In international news, the European Commission has donated over 300,000 USD for flood relief following a typhoon in the northeast of the country. UNICEF is also calling for five million US dollars to be donated towards the cause.

In Inter-Korea news, NGOs from South Korea have been carrying out humanitarian and development work in the region.

On the domestic front, the DPRK is to open over 100 vocational high schools for the first time, and the South Korean think tank KINU recently claimed that North Korea has 404 official markets. With regards to technology, North Korean cellphone network operator Koryolink is providing subscribers with personalized ring-back tone services.
