Manager of International Business Advisory Chet Scheltema to lecture at Peking University on Establishing Operations In China


In November 24th, Chet Scheltema is invited as a visiting lecturer to delivery a speech related to establishment operations in China as well as management issues of corporate opertations for the International MBA students in Guanghua School of Management, Peking University.


Chet Scheltema is a manager for the International Business Advisory team in the Beijing office of Dezan Shira & Associates and is actively involved in global business development and management of client accounts.

Chet advises clients in the following areas:

China, India, and SE Asia business and investment strategy

  • Corporate structuring and Joint Venture establishment and negotiation
  • Mergers & acquisition, organizational restructuring and divestiture
  • Corporate accounting, financial analysis and due diligence
  • Corporate tax and VAT advisory
  • Cross-border transactional support services
  • Commercial negotiations and contract preparation

Chet is a licensed attorney in California and the District of Columbia and has practiced law in global law firms in New York, Washington, Seattle, and San Diego. He managed business transactions for multinational clients and focused in the areas of corporate finance, commercial transactions, technology, real estate, and securities litigation.

As the business school of Peking University, the Guanghua School of Management (GSM) was established in December 1993 through the merger of the Department of Economic Management and the Center for Management Science. GSM now has 109 full-time faculty members, providing bachelor’s, master’s, doctorate, MPAcc, MBA and EMBA education based on a rigorous curriculum and current academic research. 

Following recognition by various international management councils such as AACSB, GMAC, EFMD , and PIM, in April 2010 GSM was approved for certification from EQUIS (The European Quality Improvement System), further accelerating the Guanghua School of Management closer towards the goal of building a fully internationalized, world-class institution for business education.
