Feb 13, 2020

Following the Novel Coronavirus’ outbreak, Dezan Shira & Associates is pleased to collaborate with The China-Italy Chamber of Commerce to provide an informative session “Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV): an outlook at Italian companies’ shared experiences”. It aims to share Italian companies’ experiences and best practicesand the webinar will take place online on Thursday, February 13th from 4pm to 6pm Beijing time.

Businesses of all sizes and industries are looking at China with growing concern: will one of the biggest production- and consumption-hubs in the world come to a halt during Covid-19?  How long will it last?  Aside from all the buzz from major headlines to local group chats, businesses are limping for one reason or another: isolated materials, quarantined cities, grounded flights, scared consumers, uncertain bureaucracy.  More than ever, during disaster, reassurance and stability are of most essence when talking to clients.  But what actions are we all taking, to effectively implement disaster recovery and business continuity?  In fact, there is a high payback in good business continuity strategies which can avoid critical misunderstandings with clients; preempt friction with staff and finally maintain clients while minimizing a loss.

While a sound internal policy in this field may already be in place or quickly achievable, the final decision is ultimately with the customer: this is why proactiveness, transparency, factual updates and readiness may be the only leverages to keep stakeholders confident and staff encouraged.

Riccardo Benussi, manager on the International Business Advisory team for the Shanghai office of Dezan Shira & Associates. Riccardo will go through an outline of the context for business continuity during Covid-19 in China. He will describe our firm’s editorial efforts and talk about how Cloud computing enables seamless communication with clients and remote work for staff creating a cycle of trust.
