Arendse joined Asia Briefing in 2021, writing primarily for its sister publication, China Briefing. Since then, she has covered policy and regulatory developments across China and the wider Asia-Pacific region, with a particular focus on foreign investment, international relations, data compliance, climate policy, and technology.
She holds an MA in Mandarin-English Translation from the University of Nottingham Ningbo China and a BA in Chinese from the University of Leeds, UK. She lived in China for six years and previously worked in public relations for leading Chinese technology companies, including Baidu, Xiaomi, and Inspur. Now based in Copenhagen, Denmark, she brings a strong combination of language expertise, regional experience, and policy insight to her work.
